Shipping Information

At DEW, we work to ship your orders quickly, accurately, and as efficiently as possible. Whether you are ordering individual classroom items or outfitting an entire school, shipping methods vary depending on the size, weight, and type of furniture or equipment ordered.

Shipping Charges

Shipping charges are calculated and displayed either on the shopping cart page or during checkout. You can review available shipping methods and costs before submitting your payment.

Ordering large or heavy furniture? Some items require truck freight delivery rather than standard parcel shipping. Please review the freight delivery information below before placing your order.

Shipping Carriers

Depending on the products ordered, shipments may travel by UPS, FedEx, USPS, or common carrier freight. Orders may ship from our warehouse or directly from the manufacturer or distributor.

We do not offer C.O.D. shipping. Delivery to P.O. Boxes and military APO addresses is available for some products, but not all.

Order Processing & Delivery Times

Processing times vary by product and manufacturer. Some furniture is stocked and ready to ship, while other items require additional handling or production time before leaving the warehouse.

Delivery dates provided on our website, by phone, or by email are estimates, not guaranteed arrival dates. Transit times may be longer for shipments traveling across the country.

Once your order ships, we will email tracking information when available.

Small Parcel Shipping

Smaller products generally ship by UPS, FedEx, or USPS. Estimated transit times after shipment are shown below.

Carrier Estimated Transit
UPS / FedEx 1-6 business days
USPS 1-10 business days

Adult signatures are generally not required, although the delivery carrier makes the final determination. If you prefer delivery without a signature, you may leave a note for the driver with your name and tracking number. Delivery instructions are subject to carrier policies.

Truck Freight Delivery

Large and heavy items, including many classroom tables, storage cabinets, workbenches, and other school furnishings, may ship by common carrier freight.

For residential deliveries, freight carriers typically contact the recipient to arrange a delivery appointment. Appointments are commonly scheduled during weekday business hours, often within a two- to four-hour window.

Freight delivery services differ from standard package delivery. Please review the following options carefully.

Standard Freight Delivery

Standard dock-to-dock freight service does not include unloading assistance or moving furniture inside your building.

Delivery is generally to the receiving dock, curb, or driveway. You are responsible for unloading and moving the shipment unless additional services have been purchased.

Liftgate Delivery

Liftgate service is available for an additional charge on eligible shipments.

The carrier uses a hydraulic lift to lower the shipment from the truck to ground level. This service does not include moving items inside the building.

Liftgate & Inside Delivery

On eligible shipments, additional service may include liftgate unloading and delivery just inside the building's front entrance, lobby or garage.

Stairs, assembly, and installation are not included. Availability and pricing vary by shipment.

Important for schools: Before ordering large furniture, confirm that your location has appropriate receiving access and personnel available to handle the shipment. If your school does not have a loading dock, consider whether liftgate service is needed.

White Glove Delivery & Installation

Assembly and installation services are available on select products only. When offered, these services will be identified on the product page. Pricing varies by item and service requirements.

How to Receive a Freight Shipment

Please inspect freight deliveries carefully before signing the carrier's delivery paperwork. These instructions apply to common carrier freight shipments, not standard UPS or FedEx parcel deliveries.

  1. Count the cartons. Confirm that the number of cartons or packages matches the Bill of Lading.
  2. Inspect the packaging. Look for crushed corners, dents, tears, punctures, moisture, or other signs of possible damage.
  3. Inspect suspected damage. If the packaging appears damaged, open the affected cartons while the driver is present whenever possible.
  4. Document any problems. Describe visible damage or shortages on the Bill of Lading before signing. If the contents cannot be inspected, also write "Subject to Inspection."
  5. Keep the packaging. Save damaged cartons and packing materials in case they are needed for a freight claim.
Important: If a shipment is severely damaged, you may refuse delivery. Write "Refused Due to Damage" on the Bill of Lading and contact DEW promptly. If you are unsure whether to accept a damaged shipment, contact us for assistance.

If everything appears to be in good condition, sign the delivery paperwork after completing your inspection.
